Made to measure pool copings in Dusk Granite with a flamed textured finish match the surrounding floor tiles
The exacting brief on this project demanded that the grout lines between tile and coping stones matched up. In order to achieve this, we have made different sized coping stones for each of the side elevations of the pool, so 600mm on the long side, and 605mm on the short side. All this is very straightforward when you have the technology we have at our disposal in our onsite masonry workshop.
Further features of this project include the submerged quadrant steps in the pool also made from Dusk Granite, and precision cut in our masonry workshop.
As in this scheme, we are often asked to create inspection covers that match the flooring material which makes them ‘disappear’ in an expanse of stone flooring.
For this project we innovated a ventilation tile. Using our waterjet cutter we have cut grilles in the tiles at a 30 degree angle which serve to eliminate condensation on the pool room windows.
To provide strength and support for this tile we have cut a stainless steel plate to sit beneath the stone tile, cutting each slot in the metal 1mm bigger than the stone cut so it is not visible from the surface, and also cutting the plate 10mm smaller all round so that it does not interfere with the tile grouting.
