This stunning bespoke stone staircase, created from La Roche limestone, forms part of a large project that Stoneworld have collaborated on:
After digitally templating the bare concrete structure onsite, individual step treads and step risers have been cut on the water jet cutter in our masonry factory. These have then been expertly fitted by the contractor.
The staircase has been cut in La Roche Limestone, brushed and honed format. This limestone has great character as you can see in these detailed images. Each step tread is cut to 1100mm x 300 mm x 20mm with a bull nosed front edge. However the bottom step is wider at 1400, enabling the grand banister rods to be set into it. Furthermore, the bottom step has two curved ends, and sits atop two curved end block risers, giving the whole staircase a grand style.
