North Norfolk Farmhouse Garden & Poolscape
Featuring Tundra Grey Tumbled Limestone & Rio Rail Slate Porcelain
Breathing New Life into a Historic Setting
In the heart of North Norfolk, a 17th-century Dutch gable-ended farmhouse has been transformed. Contemporary wings now frame a newly designed walled garden. The space offers a calm, sheltered area for entertaining, while staying true to the home’s heritage.
Choosing Stone with Purpose
The client wanted a natural stone that felt timeless yet coastal. After exploring several options, they selected Tundra Grey Tumbled Limestone. Its dense, hardwearing nature and soft grey-blue tone made it ideal. This limestone now runs throughout the property — unifying paths, garden spaces, and the pool terrace.
Bespoke Craftsmanship for a Tailored Finish
Charlotte Sanderson Garden Design developed a plan with specific paving layouts and sizes. To meet those exact needs, Stoneworld provided bespoke-cut stone.
Because we source directly from quarries, we could supply both standard flagstones and custom tumbled cobbles. This level of flexibility helped bring the design to life — exactly as intended.
Looking for something similar? Our bespoke service can match your vision, even if it requires unique formats or sizes.
Seamless Transitions into the Pool Area
The Tundra Grey limestone continues around the poolscape. Its soft, velvety finish feels calming underfoot and complements the planting nearby.
Inside the pool, we used Rio Rail Black Slate-effect porcelain tiles. These tiles give the water a deep blue hue and a natural stone appearance. Even when the water is still, the surface seems to move thanks to the tile’s subtle texture.
