6 products you should never clean your natural stone with (even when DIY-recipes say you can).

Natural stone is a wonderful investment because of its durability but unfortunately, it’s not indestructible.

Using harmful products or overlooking maintenance might risk damaging your beautiful stone.

We recommend avoiding many of the DIY cleaning recipes found online.

What are some products to avoid?

  • Vinegar
  • Bleach
  • Lemon
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda
  • Acetone

Depending on the density of the stone, these products might break down your sealers, or even worse, etch or burn your natural stone. It is important to use cleaning products that have the right pH level, 7 neutral. Luckily there are some products on the market that are safe to use.

We advise using our Rob Parker’s Best range. Our products have been scientifically developed to address the care and maintenance of all natural stone.
