Pool Tiles

Pool tiles are used to finish the areas immediately around the pool, including terraces, steps, platforms and feature bands. Stoneworld supplies pool appropriate tiles and paving in natural stone and porcelain, chosen to work as part of a complete poolscape. Tiles for the pool surround are typically textured porcelain or carefully selected natural stone formats that offer grip underfoot while remaining comfortable for bare feet. They can be used for terrace areas, step treads and risers, and detailing such as feature strips or borders that visually connect the waterline to the wider landscape.

What are pool tiles?

Porcelain pool lining tiles are tiles that you can put in the interior of your pool. They safely recreate the look of natural stone and are a more modern alternative to plastic liners or mosaic tiles.

Choosing materials for poolside tiles

For heavily used or more demanding environments, porcelain often provides advantages in terms of low absorption, chemical resistance and ease of cleaning. In more sheltered or designled settings, natural stone may be preferred for its character and ability to blend with surrounding materials. In both cases, the key is to use tiles with appropriate textures and thicknesses, and to coordinate them with the coping and paving choices from the outset.

Technical notes on poolside tiling

Poolside tiles must be laid on suitable substrates with correct falls, drainage and movement joints. Adhesive and grout selection must be compatible with exterior, wet and chemically influenced conditions. Where steps or platforms intersect with copings, tile sizes and joint patterns should be planned around those junctions, ideally using shared modules to avoid slivers and inconsistent edges.
