Winterbrook Farm is a private outdoor pool and poolhouse complex delivered by Brickell Pools, finished throughout in Stoneworld’s La Roche natural stone. The brief called for a poolscape that felt relaxed and summery, rooted in the landscape, with materials that could perform year-round in a fully exposed outdoor environment.
La Roche acid-etched sawn edge paving across the surrounding terrace and into the pool house interior, creating an unbroken material flow from outside to in. At the pool perimeter, La Roche acid-etched bullnosed coping in the same La Roche stone provides a clean, refined edge that ties the pool structure to the surrounding deck. The acid-etched finish delivers high slip-resistance underfoot without sacrificing the stone’s natural character, while the sawn edge profile gives each slab a crisp, contemporary feel that sits comfortably against the soft countryside backdrop.
The result is a pool terrace that feels both practical and considered. La Roche’s fresh, light creamy tones reflect the summer sun and complement the vivid blue of the water, while the iridescent glass mosaic steps add a decorative detail that catches the light beautifully. Low maintenance in daily use and built to handle the British climate, it is a material chosen as much for longevity as for looks.
